UNC & Duke Men’s College Basketball Make Final Four History

Forty-two years has all come down to this:

Coach K versus Coach Hubert Davis,

Duke and UNC,

The greatest college basketball rivalry,

Duke leads the series 50-49.

But could this be UNC’s time?

The New Orleans Superdome hosts the 2022 Men’s College BasketballFinal Four.

My Tar Heels have two championships from there and are ready for more.

Among the 6 National Championship banners hanging in the Dean Dome, Louisiana style are from 1982 and 1993,

And once again, the Tar Heels find themselves on the precipice of history.

First time ever, UNC and Duke face off in the national semifinal,

Win and advance to the championship—Lose and experience the ultimate denial

Duke knows it well—the finality of defeat,

To a team whose logo features some beautiful feet,

Tar Heels baby—yeah that’s how we roll,

Mike Krzyzewski’s final game in Cameron—the UNC Bell Tower did toll.

Marking the end of an era at Coach K’s Court,

UNC 94 – Duke 81 was an ACCEPTABLE score.

As his retirement looms, Coach K’s career is on the line,

Will the mighty Tar Heels again be his demise?

Win or lose, the fact remains the same,

On the quest to winning championships, UNC will have their say.

So as Coach Davis’ fellow alum of the Class of 1992,

I couldn’t be prouder of my team in Carolina Blue.
